Senior Kindergarten

The Senior Kindergarten is a three hour daily program designed to prepare children for a successful entry into grade one. We offer a minimum of 570 hours of instruction throughout the school year.
Rich and diverse curriculum
This is accomplished through a rich and diverse curriculum which emphasizes Early Literacy, Language Arts, Mathematics, Community and Environmental Awareness, Personal and Social Responsibility, Physical Skills and Well-being and Creative and Cultural Expression.
Educational field-trips and special classroom visitors
Calgary Early Learning Centre recognizes the importance of creative arts in the development of young children. Our Senior Kindergarten children will experience activities such as crafts, painting, music, movement, rhythm band and creative drama. They will also be introduced to oral French, weekly computer and technology activities and home reading. Educational field-trips and special classroom visitors are an important part of this program.
We follow Alberta Learning’s philosophy that Kindergarten provides a foundation for later success and helps to promote a positive attitude toward lifelong learning.
